Bridgwater Guy Fawkes Carnival

One of the largest illuminated carnival processions in Europe, with giant carts up to about 100 feet long covered in thousands of lights, followed by Bridgwater's unique 'squibbing' tradition. It is held on a Saturday in early November and starts the Somerset carnival season; in 2026 it is on Saturday 7 November, with the procession starting at 6pm.
