Christmas market, big wheel, rides and lights in East Princes Street Gardens, below the castle and next to Waverley station. It usually runs from mid-November until early January, leading into Hogmanay.

TipHotels get much dearer from Christmas through to New Year. Late November and early December are the best-value times to visit.
