Egremont Crab Fair

Egremont

One of England's oldest fairs, dating back to the 13th century, and home of the World Gurning Championship, where people pull their ugliest face through a horse collar. Expect street parades, climbing the greasy pole, traditional sports and the gurning in the evening from about 6pm. It is usually held on the third Saturday in September.
