Padstow 'Obby 'Oss (May Day)
Padstow
One of Britain's oldest folk festivals. On 1 May the whole town dances behind two 'Osses, the Blue Ribbon 'Oss and the Old 'Oss, to accordions and drums. Singing starts at midnight outside the Golden Lion, the 'Osses come out mid-morning, and they meet at the maypole in the evening. Up to 30,000 people come.
