Hastings Jack in the Green
Hastings
A colourful May Day festival in Hastings Old Town. The big day is the bank holiday Monday, when the leaf-covered Jack, green-faced Bogies, morris dancers, drummers and giants process through the Old Town and up to the West Hill, where the Jack is 'slain' to release the spirit of summer. It usually runs over the four days of the early May bank holiday weekend.
